A green house, a red one, pink-blue, blue-yellow, blue on deep red, seagreen…”) is a colourchart referring to the colours of the painted facades initiated by Bruno Taut during his work as town councillor of architecture in Magdeburg from 1921 to 1923. The colour chart is an interpretation of the colours described in texts about Tauts facades.

Like the facades in the slide projection in “When I Walk on the Streets these Days, somehow I can´t Relax…” Tauts work is mainly documented in the black and white photographs. Apart from some sketches, the main source of information about the colour scheme of the facades is texts and descriptions by contemporary witnesses.
Tauts work in Magdeburg was well published, also internationally, but obviously not in colour. The source of information for the artists involved in the barrack decoration movement in Tokyo, apart from those who travelled to Europe, must also have been black and white reproductions and descriptions.

In the exhibition in Halle für Kunst, the Piece is shown next to the schematic wall painting based on the compositional elements of a Japanese facade design from 1923.
