The works in the exhibition, Precious Things That Come Out of the Ground and Appeared After Rain, have their departure point in the ancient Assyrian site Nimrud in northern Iraq, and its destruction and looting in the last few years. The steel objects continue lines in satellite images of the site and the paper objects are based on objects possibly looted from this area.

The focus of the works is the surface of the ground and its destruction, the appearance and subsequent disappearance of artifacts though looting. The inkjet prints and the monochrome paper shape are based on such artifacts. The fragile paper reflect the ambivalent status of such ancient objects, decontextualized through careless looting and in transit on the way either in some storage if picked up before they are sold on the grey market or assigned a fictitious provenance and on their way into collections.
