When I Walk on the Streets these Days, somehow I can‘t relax…” 2007 / 2008
>

Installation view, Zeppelin Museum, Friedrichshafen

In the exhibition „Nothing to declare“ at the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen, “When I Walk on the Streets these Days, somehow I can‘t relax…”  was extended to include 4 freestanding walls (205x290 cm - 180x250 cm) with large pencil drawings referring to the architecture of Friedrichshafen.

Friedrichshafen was completely bombed during World War 2 due to its large industries, among these the Zeppelin factories, and had to be rebuild almost completely after the war. Today in particular the city center reads like a catalog of typical German postwar architecture, however still in the streetplan of the mid-eval city.

The drawings on the walls of the installation refer to the facades of the city. Several facades are drawn with red pencil on top of each other in several layers, continuing the layering in the slide projection and the installation itself.
